TUTANKHAMUN

Tutankhamun

The "TUTANKHAMUN" and the golden age of the pharaoh exhibition made its American debut at the Los Angeles county museum of art this past June.

The exhibition was a blockbuster when it was first displayed in the US in 1979, and the current showing is attracting just as much attention.

This is great news for Egypt because the proceeds from the exhibit will go toward the construction of the country's new museums as well as preservation of the Pyramids, Sphinx and other national treasures.

The exhibit, which has already been to Germany and Switzerland, will run in LA through mid-November, then opens at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in December 2005 and Chicago's Field Museum in May 2006; a fourth venue has yet to be identified.

It will then head to London's Dome of the Millennium. Negotiations are underway with Japan to show the exhibit.

The Exhibition has previously been to Australia in the 70's it could be very possible if the interest is high enough that it may return to Australian soil again, for new generations of Australians. This is not a definate and only time will tell.
